Good Bye Blogger.. Hellow Wordpress

I know I don't get a tone of traffic on this Blog, but for those of you who may be following it, I have left this niche of the internet for the "greener pastures" of WordPress.

Same posts, same random thoughts on life, running, amateur photography.

Hope to see you there.

South Carolina - 2009

It's the middle of winter in SW Michigan and I suddenly realized I never did a plog of our South Carolina Vacation week back in August of 2009. So I thought that now would be a good time to get out the photos and the memories of what 95 degrees and 90% humidity looks like... At this time of year I could go for that. :)

So here are a few visual memories from Isle of Palms, SC - August 2009

A view down the beach at low tide in the afternoon

All the Colorful Beach Houses

Storms building in the afternoon over the open water

I remember being absolutely memorized by the designs left on the beach from when the waves washed sand back-and-forth over the shells.

And the feeling of the waves rushing over my feet and back out to sea, as the sand disintegrated from under my feet.

The feather topped grasses blowing in the cool sea breeze

Sunrise on a wooden pier

What a great time we had... Thanks Tim and Alicia for making it possible.

Early Birthday Present

Well I got an early B-Day present from the wife. Hopefully it will lead to new and interesting thing on this site, my hope is that it will help continue my adventures into macro photography.

Canon EF 50 mm - F/1.8
- Aperture goes down to f1.8
- Min focus distance of 18 inches
- 46 degrees of view

The f1.8 aperture means greater flexibility with shutter speed in low light situations with out resorting to a flash.Aperture Explained

It is a fixed zoom, but we aren't quite ready to pay for a telephoto lense at f1.8. Those start at something like $400. The reason for this lens on my wish list, well actually it wasn't on my wish list, the wife did some good research and made a good find. Anyways, it should be a great weapon in learning to match my photographic skill with my photographic thoughts.

Can't wait for the trip to Tampa/St Pete in March, and Spring flowers in Michigan in April and May!
